We began the Footy Travelers after repeated World Cup experiences provided us valuable, often sustained connections with other soccer fans from around the world. We recognized that both travel and soccer create relationships, and that fans have more in common as humans than they have differences as supporters of opposing teams. For us, the Footy Travelers brand fosters connection between fans by focusing outside the ‘full 90.’ As we say on the podcast: “Be loud. Be proud. And be good to each other.”

…AS TWO EXPATS WITH A SHARED LOVE FOR SOCCER...

COLIN

As Colin slowly lets go of his playing days (Sunday men’s league is a helluva drug), he shares the beautiful game as a youth soccer coach and FTP’s producer. On ‘away days’ he’s the early riser who loves brewing Mike’s favorite cup of tea (Oolong by the way) and prepping the crew a delicious breakfast. Day-to-day, he’s a data viz nerd.

MIKE

The flyer of flags and ultimate ‘kit head’ (dude’s got like, over 200, easy!), Mike’s a proud ‘Blue’ through and through. His obsessions have served us well as the designer of both our Footy Travelers jerseys and supporters scarves. It’s been said that “There ain’t no party like a ‘Footy Mike’ party.” Mike’s day-to-day sees him SVP’ing Digital in the PR and Marketing space.
